Abstract

The method comprises: at least one image frame transmitted by a coder is received; and a virtual reference frame is established by using a block with a virtual reference frame identifier in the at least one image frame. Because the virtual reference frame identifier is added to the block for establishing the virtual reference frame, virtual reference frame transmission is not needed during the transmission process, so that code rate rising can be avoided. Moreover, the decoder only needs to extract the block with the virtual reference frame identifier to form the virtual reference frame and image-frame-based virtual reference frame establishment using an algorithm identical with the coder is not required, so that the complexity and power consumption of the decoder can be reduced.
