The method comprises steps of receiving a question submitted by a user, extracting an entity node and an attribution node from the question, building a query chain corresponding to the question, retrieving an answer to the question in a pre-constructed knowledge graph according to the query chain corresponding to the question to designate the answer as an answer acquired according to a knowledge graph retrieval way to the question, and feeding back the answer acquired according to the knowledge graph retrieval way to the user. Possibility that an answer acquired via retrieval is the answer to the question submitted by the user can be improved to a certain degree, so accuracy of answers fed back to the user can be improved; and besides, the embodiment of the invention further provides an answer providing apparatus.
