The invention provides an air conditioner and a threshold value adjusting method thereof. The method comprises the following steps: querying and acquiring illumination intensities at a plurality of time points in a day of the local place and light transmittance of a panel of the air conditioner by WiFi; and setting a first light sensation threshold value according to the acquired illumination intensities at the time points and the acquired light transmittance. When a light sensing element detects that the illumination intensities are reduced to a value smaller than the first light sensation threshold value from a value higher than the first light sensation threshold value, the air conditioner controls a display screen to be in a turn-off state from a turn-on state. Generally, the light transmittances of panels of air conditioners in different models are different. Illumination parameters of the different air conditioners should be set according to the light transmittances of the panels of the air conditioners, and then the display states of the display screens of the air conditioners can be set reasonably.
