Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a flow specification based communication method, device and system. The flow specification based communication method comprises the steps of obtaining a demand in which a first resource on a forwarding device needs to correlate with a second resource on the forwarding device by a controller; and sending a BGP Flow Spec (Border Gateway Protocol Flow Specification) protocol message to the forwarding device, wherein the BGP Flow Spec protocol message comprises a network layer accessibility information field and an extension group attribute field, the network layer accessibility information field carries characteristic information of the first resource, the extension group attribute field carries GID (Global ID) used for indicating the second resource, and the BGP Flow Spec protocol message is used for indicating correlation of the first resource and the second resource. The embodiment can efficiently avoid unrestricted extension of the BGP Flow Spec protocol.
