Abstract

The method for predicting the hardware events comprises: step a: collecting multi-dimensional hardware events in the cloud environment by using a performance counter, and determining a target hardware event according to the multi-dimensional hardware events; step b: analyzing the time series of the target hardware event, and establishing an HMM model through the time series of the target hardware event; and step c: calculating the usage of the target hardware event at the next time through the HMM model, and completing the prediction of the target hardware event. According to the method and system provided by the present application, performance data of the hardware event is collected in the cloud environment by using the performance counter, and the change pattern of the hardware event is observed through the HHM model, so that the usage of each underlying hardware resource on the cloud platform is predicted, the operator can release or supplement the resources on the cloud platform in time in a facilitated manner, and optimal allocation of cloud resources is realized.
