The method comprises: devices in a network are grouped based on a switching domain, wherein the devices in a same switching domain belong to the same group; a hierarchical relation between all devices in each group is determined based on the groups; and on the basis of the hierarchical relation, a connection relationship between a port of a lower-level device and a port and an upper-level device is calculated and a network topology is established and updated based on the connection relationship.
