Abstract

The present invention provides a moving object detection method and system. The method comprises: performing denoising processing of video images; setting a background frame image; calculating difference image between a current image and the background frame image; performing binary processing of the difference image, extracting the foreground object of a target moving object, and calculating the proportion of the foreground pixel points of the foreground object; and confirming if the proportion of the foreground pixel points exceed a preset threshold, prompting that the moving object is detected. The moving object detection method improves the detection effect, simplifies the operation process and reduces the detection difficulty through a real-time background updating mode.
