Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for isolating a base station beacon and gas reading transmission channel(s) based on a single radio device wireless gas detection system. Gas detectors may communicate on a first channel (eg, a beacon channel) that is constantly listening for beacon information from a base station. At pre-defined intervals (eg, every 60 seconds), the gas detector radio may switch to a second channel (eg, data channel) to send gas readings as well as base station information to the central server. Software on the server can complete a triangulation algorithm to determine the location of the gas detectors using information obtained by the detectors from the beacons.
