The invention discloses a multiple-state electric power system reliability analysis method based on order optimization and a Monte Carlo method. The method comprises the steps of classifying all systems for finding out a basic system, and calculating reliability of the basic system by means of the Monte Carlo method; obtaining the rough reliability of the residual system through a first correctionmethod, processing the rough reliabilities of all multiple-state electric power systems by means of the order optimization algorithm BP for performing first screening; based on the reliability of thebasic system, performing calculated through a second correction method, and performing second screening by means of the order optimization algorithm BP; and finally obtaining the multiple-state electric power system with highest reliability through the Monte Carlo method. The multiple-state electric power system reliability analysis method has advantages of greatly reducing calculation time and realizing higher accuracy in a screening process.
