Abstract

The invention discloses a message traffic control method and device, and can reduce the business pressure of the forwarding surface equipment. The method is performed in a communication system comprising control surface equipment, the forwarding surface equipment and routing equipment. The forwarding surface equipment is connected with the backbone network through at least one set of routing equipment. The method comprises the steps that the control surface equipment determines speed limit information, wherein the speed limit information is used for indicating the upper traffic limit of the target message required to be controlled, and the target message is the message which is transmitted by the backbone network and required to be forwarded to the user equipment; and the control surface equipment transmits the speed limit information to at least one set of routing equipment so that the first routing equipment of at least one set of routing equipment performs traffic control for the target message according to the speed limit information and the traffic of the target message is enabled not to be higher than the upper traffic limit.
