The method comprises the following steps of: firstly inputting a PDF file; analyzing a layout of the PDF file by utilizing a machine vision technology so as to obtain content distribution of the layout, and analyzing PDF file data to obtain objects of all the elements in the file and object information; mapping the objects with layout distribution, positioning the elements such as characters, pictures, tables and formulas, ad converting PDF-format objects into OFD-format objects by utilizing the mapped object information;and finally composing the OFD-format objects according to an output requirement and outputting an OFD file. According to the method, single or batched PDF files can be automatically converted into OFDfiles via relatively high correctness, the correctness of special elements such as pictures, tables and formulas in the PDF files is effectively ensured, the using difficulty of information stored inthe PDF files is reduced, and the efficiency of converting the PDF files into OFD files is improved.
