Abstract

The invention discloses a method and device for reconfiguring a buffer status report (BSR) timer. The method comprises a step of sending a request message for reconfiguring the BSR timer to a base station, wherein the BSR timer is used for triggering BSR, a step of receiving a response message used for reconfiguring the BSR timer sent by the base station, wherein the response message carries reconfiguration parameters of the BSR timer. By using a technical scheme of the present invention, the BSR timer can be reconfigured through negotiation between UE and the base station, thus the BSR timeris flexibly changed, and the QoS of the service and the reasonable allocation of uplink resources are effectively ensured.
