Abstract

The invention a border gateway protocol improvement method and device based on stability and security. The method comprises the steps of adding security root cause information labeling a BGP route updating origin to each notification route; calculating a route stability indicator according to both the security root cause information and route AS_PATH information; and adding the stability indicatorto a BGP route determining process, so as to lower the priority of a malicious protocol attack path. The method balances stability and security of BGP, suppresses route jitter and improves protocol security, prevents the protocol from controlling attacks, uses a simple principle, is flexible in configuration and is easy to realize.
