Abstract

The invention discloses a method for implementing a one-way heartbeat mechanism. The method performs communication by using a TCP communication protocol and comprises the steps of when a first node ina storage cluster receives a ping message sent timely by a second node according to a preset heartbeat frequency, recording a heartbeat timestamp corresponding to the ping message; calculating a timedifference between a current heartbeat timestamp and a heartbeat timestamp recorded at a previous time; judging whether the time difference is greater than a preset threshold value or not; and if yes, judging that the ping message is overtime, and sending overtime statistical information to the first node. By applying the method for implementing the one-way heartbeat mechanism provided by the embodiment of the invention, the occupation of communication resources of a storage system can be reduced, and the concurrent processing capacity of a cluster is improved. In addition, the heartbeat frequency of the heartbeat mechanism can further be doubled so that a functional module having a problem is detected more quickly.
