[0057] A network of co-authors with 1,712,433 authors was downloaded from https: / / www.aminer.cn / billboard / aminernetwork, named AMiner. Through the division method described in the present invention, 69,723 initial clustering centers were determined in this network, and finally 69,723 academic communities were found. The scales of different academic communities vary greatly. The largest community contains 555 authors. Some communities have less than 10 authors. Table 1 lists the statistics of the discovered academic communities, only a small fraction of the academic communities have more than 100 researchers. Thanks to the good performance of the proposed algorithm for unbalanced data, we found a huge number of academic communities with a small number of researchers in the AMiner network.
