The invention provides an electronic device capable of gesture operation and an operation method thereof. The electronic device comprises a plurality of signal transceivers, a signal processor and a central processor. The signal transceivers are configured to transmit a plurality of first signals through a plurality of speaker holes. The signal processor generates a plurality of data information when the signal transceivers receive a plurality of second signals responsive to the first signals being reflected by an object through the speaker apertures. The CPU is used for analyzing the data tojudge the covering state and the releasing state of the speaker holes, and obtaining the covering order and the releasing order of the speaker holes.
