The method comprises the following steps of applying a voltage U to a test loop; measuringthe leakage current IA1of an A-phase cable at the head end of a split phase cable, the leakage current IB1 of a B-phase cable, and the leakage current IC1 of a C-phase cable; electrically connectingthe head ends of AB, AC, and BC phase cables, and measuring phase-to-phase leakage currents IAB1, IAC1, and IBC1; measuring the leakage currents IA2, IB2 and IC2 of a three-phase cable at a tail end;electrically connecting the tail ends of the AB, AC, and BC phase cables, and measuring the phase-to-phase leakage currents IAB2, IAC2, and IBC2; and calculating the dielectric loss value of each phase. In the invention, the suppression function of the stray current of a split phase cable in dielectric loss measurement can be realized, the head end leakage currents and the tail end leakage currents are measured separately to calculate the dielectric loss value of each phase.
