Abstract

The invention provides a method and an apparatus for the rate matching of polar codes, which can reduce the search space of a code word domain when selecting a rate matching scheme of the polar codes. The method comprises steps of: determining a first index set corresponding to the N to-be-coded bits; obtaining a first code word with length N, wherein the first code word is obtained by polar coding the N to-be-coded bits; performing rate matching on the first code word according to the first index set, to obtain a second code word with length M, wherein M<N and M is a positive integer; and sending the second code word with length M. The first index set comprises an index of Z polarized channels for placing forced freeze bits, and the Z polarized channels are a subset of N polarized channels corresponding to the N to-be-coded bits, N=2n, Z<N, n and Z are positive integers.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates to the field of channel coding, and more specifically, to a method and device for rate matching of polar codes. Background technique [0002] Communication systems usually use channel coding to improve the reliability of data transmission and ensure the quality of communication. Polar codes (that is, Polar codes) are the first good codes that can obtain Shannon capacity and have low encoding and decoding complexity, and thus have been widely used. [0003] When Polar codes are used for channel coding, according to the Polar coding principle, the lengths of the codewords obtained after the bits to be coded are Polar coded are all integer powers of 2. When the actual code length that can be transmitted by the channel is not an integer power of 2, it is necessary to perform rate matching on the encoded codeword to obtain a codeword of the required length, and then transmit it on the channel. Generally, the to-be-encoded b...
