The system comprises a geotechnical centrifuge, a model box, a slope model, multiple differential displacement sensors and a high-speed camera; the geotechnical centrifuge is connected with the model box, the model box is used for providing placing space for the slope model, the slope model is placed in the model box, the differential displacement sensors are arranged on the slope model, and the high-speed camera is arranged on a hanging basket of the geotechnical centrifuge.The system and method for simulating the evolution and disaster causing of the deep toppling deformation have the advantages that a model having same characters with actual metamorphic rocks is constructed, the valley trenching action is simulated, the real natural environment is simulated by using a geotechnical centrifuge model, the evolution process of the deep toppling deformation is simulatedthrough centrifuge model tests of four stages, and finally, key factors and disaster-causing factors of the deep toppling deformation are obtained through simulation calculation according to collected data and pictures collected by the differential displacement sensors and the high-speed camera.
