The invention discloses a positioning method of a mobile target in a fixed region and\or a fixed line. The positioning method comprises the steps that (1) the fixed region and\or the fixed line whichthe mobile target passes through is divided into K segments, N position sensors are arranged in each segment, each position sensor comprises a resistor, and the N resistors in the N position sensors in each segment are connected in series through a wire; (2) in order to ensure the uniqueness of resistance values of the resistors, a constraint condition is set for the N resistors in the N positionsensors in each selected segment; and (3) when the mobile target passes through a certain segment, the resistors in one or more position sensors in the segment are subject to a short circuit, a controller collects changing total resistance values in the segment in real time and performs lookup comparison, and therefore the specific segment which the mobile target passes through and the specific position of the mobile target in the segment are obtained. Through the positioning method, the wiring amount in construction is less, the structure is simple, cost is low, maintenance is convenient, andtherefore the positioning method has high popularization value.
