[0019] Patients: A total of 65 patients who underwent surgical resection of advanced colorectal cancer at Hiroshima Memorial Hospital, Japan were included in this study. In addition, 20 cases of normal colonic mucosa were used as controls. The tumors of each patient were formalin-fixed and cut into parallel 4-5mm sections, combined with hematoxylin and eosin staining, and the deepest tumor invasion site was selected by microscopic examination. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Hiroshima Memorial Hospital. All subjects obtained informed consent.
