Systems and methods for detecting stroke

Abstract

A system for detecting stroke includes a sensor device configured to obtain physiological data, such as brain activity data, from a patient. A computing device communicatively coupled to the sensor device is configured to receive the physiological data and compare the physiological data to reference data. The reference data may be patient data from the cerebral hemisphere opposite the hemisphere being interrogated, or the reference data may be non-patient data from a population of stroke and normal patients. Based on the comparison of the physiological data with the reference data, the system indicates whether the patient has suffered a stroke.
