Abstract

The invention discloses a fire extinguishing system of a semi-submersible drilling platform. A variable frequency fire extinguishing pressure maintaining pump and two directly-starting main fire extinguishing pumps are arranged on each of the left board and the right board of the semi-submersible drilling platform. First water pressure sensors are installed at output ports of the fire extinguishing pressure maintaining pumps to measure fire extinguishing water pressure. The fire extinguishing pressure maintaining pumps and the main fire extinguishing pumps are connected to a fire extinguishingwater circuit at the same time, and the fire extinguishing water circuit is provided with a second water pressure sensor. A control system automatically regulates the rotating speeds of the fire extinguishing pressure maintaining pumps based on preset logics according to pressure values of the first water pressure sensors to maintain proper water pressure in a fire extinguishing pipeline. If a fire extinguishing subsystem is started or the fire extinguishing pipeline leaks to cause continuous dropping of water pressure, the control system automatically stops the main fire extinguishing pumpsbased on preset logics according to the pressure value of the second water pressure sensor to supplement fire extinguishing water.
