Problems solved by technology

In addition, this force creates greater mechanical stress on the fastening or screwing system, resulting in greater wear and tear on the tank over time
Ultimately, as the system degrades and the gasket functions less, the user is forced to apply a greater tightening force

Embodiment Construction

[0032] figure 1 An embodiment of a square profile jar 1 for cosmetic products is shown, comprising a base 2 and a lid 3 . "Square profile" tanks means tanks having a generally parallelepiped shape with a square base at the bottom, but does not exclude tanks with convex profiles or other slight variations of the basic shape. Furthermore, the description is directed to tanks 1 having a square outline, but is valid mutatis mutandis for tanks whose base is of any external basic shape.

[0033] The base 2 may be made of any suitable material, but the present invention is particularly concerned with cosmetic jars where the base 2 is made of glass, porcelain or similar material such as pottery, which may cause problems with poor dimensional dispersion as explained above.

[0034] Such as figure 2 As shown, the base 2 includes a container 200 and a neck 201 positioned above the container 200 .

[0035] The cylindrical neck 201 defines an opening 202 allowing access to the product ...

Abstract

The invention concerns a pot for a cosmetic product, comprising a base (2) topped by a substantially cylindrical neck defining an opening, and a lid equipped with a seal (6) having a top surface and abottom surface. The neck of the pot has a rim (203) with an inner periphery comprising a shoulder (204) that forms a concave surface. The seal (6) comprises, on the bottom surface of same, a flexibleannular lip (603) that has, on an outer peripheral wall, a convex shape which, when the lid is tightened on the base (2), matches said concave surface over at least a portion of the height of the shoulder (204) and presses sealingly against said rim (203) around the entire inner periphery of same, so as to sealingly close the pot. The flexibility of the seal (6) and the shape of the lip (603) thereof, which complements that of the rim (203), allow it to be deformed in such a way as to be able to compensate for dimensional irregularities occurring at manufacture and ensure tight sealing.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of jars, in particular jars for cosmetic products. Cosmetics means in particular all products for making up the skin and all mixtures intended for use on the body. Background technique [0002] Cosmetic jars generally include a base for containing cosmetics, on which a neck with an opening diameter close to the cross-sectional diameter of the base is placed. The base is closed by a cover, eg screwed on the neck. To make the closure airtight, a seal is usually inserted between the lid and the base. [0003] Various shapes are known in the art to achieve a sufficient level of tightness. According to a first known configuration, fasteners may be present on the lower face of the cover and on the upper face of the seal, so as to bring the seal into contact with the lower face of the cover. These fasteners can be, for example, contact pieces that are screwed to each other. In this way, the seal is pressed again...
