The system comprises: an image sensor, a controller, an industrial personal computer and a cigarette making and plug assembling machine. The controller generates trigger signals of a camera and a light source in the image sensor to the image sensor according to cigarette synchronizing signals provided by the cigarette making and plug assembling machine, the image sensor collects cigarette images. Cigarette images are transmitted to the industrial personal computer to be analyzed and processed, the length of cigarette tipping paper is calculated, and rejecting signals are sent to the controller for out-of-tolerance cigarettes.
