The invention provides a compression method and device of neural network data and a computer readable storage medium, and the method comprises the steps: receiving to-be-compressed data which is the activation output of any layer of a neural network model; determining a plurality of data blocks according to the to-be-compressed data and a preset data length; and performing compression operation onthe plurality of data blocks according to a bit plane compression algorithm. By utilizing the method, the to-be-compressed data is converted into the plurality of data blocks, and the data blocks arecompressed by adopting the bit plane compression algorithm, so that a relatively high compression rate can be realized, the storage space can be saved, and the memory access efficiency can be improved.
