The invention discloses application of Wubi Chinese yam pills in preparation of a medicine for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. The Wubi Chinese yam pills consist of Chinese yams, cistanche deserticola, schisandra chinensis, semen cuscutae, eucommia ulmoides, achyranthes bidentata, rhizoma alismatis, prepared rehmannia roots, dogwood, poria cocos, morinda officinalis and red halloysite. According to the invention, testosterone propionate is used to induce benign prostatic hyperplasia modeling of Wistar rats; continuously intragastric administration of the Wubi Chinese yam pills is performed for 12 weeks; it is found that the Wubi Chinese yam pills have obviously improved pathological changes on BPH rats, the Wubi Chinese yam pills are related to the expression of AR and PSA in prostate tissue at the mRNA level which can be adjusted by the Wubi Chinese yam pills, and the treatment effect of the Wubi Chinese yam pills in a medium-dose group is especially good, and significant differences (p is smaller than 0.05) exist; it is indicated that the Wubi Chinese yam pill has a certain treatment or improvement effect on BPH rats, so that the Wubi Chinese yam pill is used for treatingbenign prostatic hyperplasia diseases, and good news is brought to BPH patients.
