The method includes the steps that when it is detected that an external power supply device stops supplying power, the power outage state of the elevator car is acquired, wherein the power outage state includes a passenger state and a floor state; and when the passenger state indicates that there are passengers and the floor state indicates that the elevator car stops on a non-level floor, the elevator car is controlled to perform a passenger pacification operation, wherein the passenger pacification operation includes at least one of performing voice pacification on the passengers, adjusting lighting of the elevator car and adjusting ventilation of the elevator car. By adopting the method, when the external power supply device of an elevator stops supplying power, at least one of voice pacification, lighting adjustment and ventilation adjustment can beperformed to relieve the nervousness of the passengers, improve the comfort of the passengers and reduce the influence of the power outage on the passengers.
