[0109] Prepare the aqueous phase (A) by combining all ingredients in a beaker or kettle and heating to about 70°C to 80°C with stirring using an overhead mixer. Prepare oil phase (B) by combining all ingredients in oil phase (B) in a separate beaker or kettle with a magnetic stir bar and heating to about 70°C to 80°C while stirring using a magnetic stir plate. Prepare the acidic aqueous phase (C) by combining all ingredients in a further beaker or kettle with a magnetic stir bar, heating to 40°C while stirring using a magnetic stir plate.

[0110] Once the oil phase (B) reaches about 70°C to 80°C, it is poured into the water phase (A) and mixed using a Tekmar mixer at about 5,000 rpm to 10,000 rpm for 5 minutes to create an oil-in-water emulsion. After mixing, the heat was turned off and the mixture was allowed to cool while stirring with an overhead mixer. When the mixture reaches 60 °C, add Sepigel with continuous stirring using an overhead mixer TM 305. When the mixture...

Description

technical field [0001] Described herein are methods and compositions for alleviating the sensation of vaginal dryness. Background technique [0002] It is estimated that by 2030, there will be approximately 1.2 billion menopausal and postmenopausal women in the world. Given that the average age at onset of menopause has remained constant and women's life expectancy has generally increased, the number of postmenopausal women is expected to increase. It is well known that perimenopause and menopause can be accompanied by hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, stress, fatigue, irritability and memor...
