Problems solved by technology

However, detecting software evasion is more difficult when deception is performed at slow and regular speeds (relative to the application under consideration)
[0016] Therefore, spoofing and jamming of GNSS signals pose a risk to location-based services in particular

Embodiment Construction

[0050] In the following, when referring to GNSS receivers, so-called "positioning information" is information required to determine PVT calculations (i.e. spatial coordinates (latitude, longitude and altitude) and temporal coordinates (time information)) unless otherwise indicated collection. As with another positioning technique, the positioning information may be limited to spatial coordinates sent to the receiver with or without associated time information.

[0051] The present invention relates to a method and associated apparatus for detecting spoofing in a receiver based on the consideration of two data links providing information about the location of the receiver. The first data link provides accurate location information, while the second data link provides location information whose accuracy depends on the selection and configuration of the data link and the expected performance of the anti-spoofing technology. Two sets of location data are compared to determine if ...

Abstract

The invention refers to a terminal (401) to calculate a position and detect spoofing, the terminal comprising: a receiver of first signals, notably signals of a GNSS type, from first sources (411, 412, 413, 414), to compute a first information relative to its position, as for instance a pseudo range measurement, an ephemeris, a navigation message, spatial coordinates or temporal coordinates, and to calculate a position; a receiver of a second signal of a non-RF and non-GNSS type from a second source, notably from an optical display (402), the second signal comprising a second information transmitted using a predetermined encoding format to retrieve said second information; a processing logic configured to detect spoofing by comparing the first and second information. The invention furtherrefers to the associated transmitters, authentication server and spoofing detection methods.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to the field of positioning technology. More specifically, the present invention describes a receiver and associated method for detecting spoofing and discrepancies in the receiver and computing position, especially when the receiver is a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) ) Abbreviation) receiver time. Background technique [0002] In today's society, applications based on location information are becoming more and more important. These applications include location-based services (LBS), which are designed to provide certain users with content relevant to their location, such as augmented reality applications, navigation systems, and other content. This trend is expected to increase further with the emerging market for autonomous vehicles (cars, trucks, ships, etc.) and secure transactions. Among the existing positioning technologies, GNSS-based technologies have proven to be the best candidates for ou...
