Abstract

Provided is a fluid sterilization device that sterilizes a liquid such as water flowing therein by irradiating the liquid with ultraviolet light, and that has a structure whereby heat generated in a light-emitting element, which is an ultraviolet light source, can efficiently escape to a fluid to be sterilized. This fluid sterilization device is provided with: a flow path pipe having a flow path through which a liquid to be sterilized flows; and an ultraviolet light irradiation module embedded in an opening provided at one end of the flow path pipe in the longitudinal direction and irradiatingultraviolet light into the flow path. The ultraviolet light irradiation module includes: a base made of metal; a light-emitting element arranged on the base and generates ultraviolet light; a cover made of metal, mounted on the base so as to cover the light emitting element and having a light extraction opening; and a transparent window covering the light extraction port, the light emitting element being hermetically sealed, and a part of the base and the cover being exposed in the flow path.
