The method comprises the steps that: an indication information bit is set in a reserved bit of a G-RNTI R2 MAC CE, wherein the indication information bit is used for indicating whether a terminal currently takes effect of group GAP parameter configuration or not; when the terminal currently takes effect of group GAP parameter configuration, the terminal sets the position of the indication information to be 1; when the terminal does not take effect on group GAP parameter configuration at present, the terminal sets the position of the indication information to be 0; and the terminal sends the G-RNTI R2 MAC CE to a base station. Corresponding to the method, the invention further discloses terminal equipment. By applying the method and the the terminal equipment disclosed by the invention, the problem of inconsistent GAP parameter configuration on the base station side and the terminal side can be avoided.
