The method comprises the steps: obtaining a map and monitoring data of a power transmission line area, dividing a power transmission line into road sections and nodes, wherein the monitoring data includes meteorological monitoring data, power transmission and transformation monitoring data and fault monitoring data; predicting a fault occurrence probability of each road section or node; constructing a to-be-patrolled and maintained display map, wherein the to-be-patrolled and maintained display map includes pre-stored equipment information, the fault occurrence probability of each road section or node in the power transmission line, and labeling information of the monitoring data on corresponding positions of the power transmission line area map; and constructing a power transmission line area model, and determining a fault occurrence position according to the model, including a fault position corresponding to the fault labeling information in the labeling information and a power transmission line section or node position of which the fault occurrence probability is higher than a preset safety threshold. The fault condition can be checked at any time through the power transmission line area model, and the fault position is determined for timely maintenance.
