Problems solved by technology

[0011] Vaporizable material leaks are problematic because such leaks often interfere with the function and cleanliness of the vaporizer unit (e.g. leaked vaporizable material clogs electrical ports or creates a mess that requires cleaning)
Additionally, leakage of evaporable material from a cartridge can negatively impact the user experience due to the potential to contaminate or damage other items or fabrics in the vicinity of the leaking cartridge
Leakage into the cartridge or parts of the vaporizer unit may also cause the liquid vaporizable material to bypass the vaporization chamber, causing the user to experience an unpleasant sensation from inhaling the vaporizable material in liquid form

Embodiment approach

[0043] Embodiments of the current subject matter include methods, devices, articles, and systems related to vaporizing one or more materials for inhalation by a user. Exemplary embodiments include evaporator devices and systems that include evaporator devices. As used in the following description and claims, the term "evaporator unit" refers to a self-contained unit, a unit comprising two or more separable parts (for example, a vaporizer body including batteries and other material) and / or the like. An "evaporator system" as used herein may include one or more components, such as an evaporator device. Examples of vaporizer devices consistent with embodiments of the current subject matter include electronic vaporizers, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), and / or the like. Generally, such vaporizer devices are handheld devices that heat (eg, by convection, conduction, radiation, and / or some combination thereof) a vaporizable material to provide an inhalable dose of the ...

Abstract

Cartridges for vaporizer devices are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the cartridge can include a primary reservoir, a secondary reservoir in fluid communication with the primary reservoir, and a vaporization chamber in communication with the secondary reservoir in which the vaporization chamber includes a first wicking element. The primary reservoir is configured to store a majority fraction of vaporizable material when in a first pressure state and configured to expel the vaporizable material in response to an increase in headspace when in a second pressure state. The secondary reservoir is formed of absorbent material configured to receive a first volume of the vaporizable material from the primary reservoir in the first pressure state and to receive a second volume of the vaporizable material from the primary reservoir in the second pressure state in which the second volume is greater than the first volume. Vaporizer devices are also provided.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 755,895, filed November 5, 2018, entitled "Cartridge for Evaporator Apparatus," the disclosure of which is incorporated by reference in its entirety to the extent permitted Incorporated into this article. technical field [0003] The subject matter described herein relates to an evaporator apparatus including an evaporator cartridge. Background technique [0004] Evaporator devices, also known as vaporizers, electronic vaporizer devices, or e-evaporator devices, can be used to deliver an aerosol containing one or more active ingredients (e.g., a gaseous and / or condensed phase material, suspended In a stationary or moving mass of air (or some other gaseous carrier), the delivery is achieved by inhalation of the aerosol by the user of the vaporization device. Electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), for example, include a class of batter...
