[0017] Certain illustrative examples will be described in order to provide an overall understanding of the systems, devices, and methods described herein. Although the examples and features described herein are specifically described for use in connection with a dual-hub introducer sheath for endovascular procedures involving catheter-based ventricular assist devices, it should be understood that the following All components and other features outlined can be combined with one another in any suitable manner and can be adapted and applied to other types of procedures requiring a dual hub introducer sheath.

[0018] As noted above, while it is possible to use multiple access points to simultaneously use multiple devices on a patient, this can be challenging for a number of reasons. First, the patient may not have two anatomically available access sites for PCI surgical equipment where, for example, two 6-7Fr sheaths may be used to facilitate the procedure (eg, balloon and stent ...

Abstract

The application provides an introducer system for percutaneously delivering a first and a second medical device to a patient. The system may comprise an introducer sheath having a longitudinal axis and a lumen formed therein. The system may also comprise a hub coupled to a proximal end of the sheath. The hub may comprise a first arm having a first lumen and a first hemostasis valve for the passage of the first medical device. The hub may also comprise a second arm coupled to the first arm and having a second lumen and a second hemostasis valve for the passage of the second medical device. Further, the hub may comprise a connection port such that the first lumen and the second lumen are in communication with the lumen of the introducer sheath for the passage of at least one of the first and second medical devices through the introducer sheath for delivery to the patient.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application No. 62 / 817,901, filed March 13, 2019, the contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference in their entirety. Background technique [0003] Currently, percutaneous mechanical support devices are used for various clinical indications. Such support equipment may include, but is not limited to pumps, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) pumps, and balloon pumps. Pumps can also include Impella Pump, Impella Pump, Impella Pump and Impella pumps, all of which are manufactured by Abiomed of Denver, MA. Mostly, they are inserted percutaneously into the patient through a single access point (e.g., radial, femoral, axillary), while other procedures (e.g., percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)) are A second access point (eg, contralateral femoral or radial access point) is performed. Therefore, using multiple devices on a patient at the sa...
