A method (300) for concentrating a substance in a milk product (MP), the method (300) comprising the steps of: feeding (302) the milk product (MP) from a tank (202) to a filtering device (102), filtering (304) the milk product (MP) into a permeate (P) and a retentate (R), such that the substance is concentrated in the retentate (R), circulating (306) a first part (R1) of the retentate (R) over the filtering device (102), feeding (308) a second part (R2) of the retentate (R) to the tank (202), repeating the circulations to thereby gradually increase a concentration of the substance in the milk product (MP), and stopping (312) the repeating (310) when the concentration of the substance in the milk product (MP) has reached a predetermined value.
