Abstract

The present disclosure provides a method performed by a wireless device for capability signaling. The wireless device includes one or more antenna panels configured to communicate with a network node. The method includes obtaining capabilities of at least one of the antenna panels, where the capabilities include at least one of a receive-only-panel ROP capability, a transmit-only-panel TOP capability, a transmit-receive-panel RTP capability, and a dynamic RTP capability. The method comprises sending control signaling to the network node indicating the obtained capabilities of the at least one antenna panel.

Description

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of wireless communications. The present disclosure relates to methods for capability signaling, related network nodes and wireless devices. Background technique [0002] A wireless device (eg user equipment UE) may have one or more antenna panels, eg one antenna panel on its back, one antenna panel on the front and some on the sides. An antenna panel is a collection of antennas capable of transmitting in one or two polarizations with a single spatial filter (so-called beam) according to UE capabilities. Furthermore, only a single antenna panel per UE can always be used for transmission, but multiple panels can be activated. An active panel is an antenna panel that can be selected for transmission by a network node (eg gNB) and should be able to transmit with a relatively short time delay (eg tens of μs). A deactivated antenna panel may have a large delay before becoming operational. [0003] Implementations of wireless devi...
