Embodiment Construction

[0036] The present disclosure relates to a method of estimating a distribution system condition of a low voltage grid of a distribution system. The low voltage grid has a number of local nodes, where the local nodes may include both smart meters and distributed energy resources. The method at least includes the following steps:

[0037] obtaining periodic measurements of periodic node voltages and / or branch currents from one or more local nodes in the low voltage network; and

[0038] Obtain event-driven measurements based on event-driven data of node voltages and / or branch currents from DERs and / or other event-driven data sources.

[0039] These steps do not have to be sequential, but can be performed in parallel and triggered by periodic measurements and events, respectively.

[0040] State estimation is critical to the development of models for power system monitoring and analysis. Power System State Estimation (PSSE) is a well known concept that has been studied and app...

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method of estimating a power distribution system condition in a low voltage grid of a power distribution system, the low voltage grid having a plurality of local nodes, where one or more local nodes comprise a distributed energy source, the method comprises: obtaining periodic measurements of periodic node voltages and / or branch currents from one or more local nodes in the low-voltage power grid, the periodic measurements being periodically obtained at fixed time intervals; obtaining event-driven measurements of event-driven data based on node voltages and / or branch currents from the distributed energy sources and / or other event-driven data sources, where the event-driven measurements are obtained when a change in the power operating point and / or other measurements exceeds a predetermined threshold for one of the distributed energy sources; performing a power distribution system state estimation (DSSE) on the low voltage grid based on a data set including periodic measurements in the primary process; estimating, in a secondary process, an effect on a node voltage and / or a branch current in the plurality of local nodes based on the event-driven measurements; wherein the impact on node voltages and / or branch currents in the plurality of local nodes estimated from the secondary process is used to update the data set in the primary process. The present disclosure also relates to a monitoring system for estimating and monitoring operating conditions of low voltage grid feeder conditions.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to a method of estimating distribution system conditions in a low voltage grid. The present disclosure also relates to a system in the form of a two-layer estimation platform for estimating the operational status of the low-voltage grid feeder status. Background technique [0002] Electricity distribution systems are designed to provide electricity services to their customers. The low-voltage grid or secondary grid is the part of electricity distribution that transports power from distribution transformers to end-users' electricity meters. These networks operate at low voltage levels (usually the supply voltage). [0003] Traditional consumption is unidirectional and limited by the fuse rating of the electrical installation. Under these conditions, the design of the distribution network has always been simple. There is no real need for advanced monitoring of operating conditions. However, with the introduction of dis...
