The invention discloses a goods traceability method and device based on a block chain. The method comprises the following steps: in response to a goods identifier generation request sent by a goods source party, calling identifier generation logic defined in an intelligent contract to generate a goods identifier, and returning the goods identifier to the goods source party; in response to a target goods traceability information evidence storage request sent by the goods circulation party based on the target goods identifier, calling evidence storage logic defined in the smart contract to perform identity verification on the goods circulation party, and performing evidence storage of the target goods traceability information after the goods circulation party passes the identity verification; receiving a goods traceability request sent by a supervisor, wherein the goods traceability request carries traceability features; and in response to the goods traceability request, calling a traceability logic defined in an intelligent contract to query goods traceability information which is stored in a block chain and is matched with the traceability feature, and returning the queried goods traceability information to a supervisor.
