The improved coral sand comprises a coral sand improved matrix and coral sand. After the coral sand is modified by adopting the modified matrix, the compactness of the coral sand is remarkably improved, after the modified coral sand is used as an island building material to build an island, the stability of a pile foundation is guaranteed, and the obtained modified coral sand has excellent desalting performance and good water retention performance. The desalination performance can desalinate the infiltrated seawater, so that fresh water which can be utilized by vegetation is formed in the artificial island stratum, and formation of natural vegetation on the ground surface is facilitated; and the water retention performance can lock infiltrated rainwater during rainfall, so that the formation of an underground fresh water lenticular body of the artificial island is accelerated, and the content of underground fresh water is increased.
