Abstract

A flexible porous dissolvable solid sheet article comprising a water soluble polymer, a plasticizer, and a cationic surfactant wherein the weight ratio of the plasticizer to the cationic surfactant is from about 0.9 to about 2 is disclosed. Further, a method of making the article is provided wherein the method comprises: a) preparing a wet pre-mixture comprising a water soluble polymer, a plasticizer, and a cationic surfactant; b) aerating the wet pre-mixture to form an aerated wet pre-mixture; c) forming the aerated wet pre-mixture into a sheet; and d) drying the formed sheet. And the stability of the aerated premixture can be significantly improved by selecting the ratio. This improved stability may further result in significantly improved pore structure, flexibility of the manufacturing process, and consumer desirable dissolution characteristics.
