Thickened fabric conditioners

The present invention relates to thickened fabric conditioners, which fabric conditioners contain a particular polymeric thickener, which is obtained by polymerizing from 5 to 100 mole percent of a cationic vinyl addition monomer, from 0 to 95 mole percent of acrylamide, and from 70 to 300 ppm of a difunctional vinyl addition monomer cross-linking agent. As compared to such compositions comprising a similar product but obtained from a polymerization reaction using between 5 and 45 ppm cross-linking agent considerable advantages are obtained. Especially, the delivery of fragrance present in the softening composition is more efficiently carried over to the fabrics to be treated.

Perfumed liquid laundry detergent compositions with functionalized silicone fabric care agents

The invention is directed to aqueous liquid laundry detergent compositions for cleaning and imparting fabric care benefits to fabrics laundered therewith and to methods for preparing such compositions. Such compositions comprise (A) at least one textile-cleaning surfactant; (B) droplets of miscible silicones comprising both a polarly-functionalized, preferably nitrogen-containing amino or ammonium functionalized, polysiloxane component and a nitrogen-free non-functionalized or non-polarly-functionalized polysiloxane component; and (C) a perfume component comprising fragrant aldehydes and / or ketones or a pro-perfume capable of providing such aldheyde and / or ketone perfume materials in situ. Incorporation of a polarly-functionalized polysiloxane fabric care agent into liquid laundry detergent compositions by miscibly combining it with a non-functionalized or non-polarly functionalized polysiloxane minimizes the undesirable interaction such polarly-functionalized silicone material might otherwise have with aldehyde and / or ketone perfume compounds.

Solvent compositions for removing petroleum residue from a substrate and methods of use thereof

Water-soluble solvent compositions, including from about 10% to about 60% by weight of an aromatic ester; from about 30% to about 60% by weight of an aliphatic ester; from 0% to about 15% by weight of a co-solvent; from 0% to about 20% of one of a cyclic terpene and a terpenoid; from 0% to about 1% by weight of an odor-masking agent; and from 0% to about 20% by weight of a nonionic surfactant, for removing petroleum residue from a substrate, and methods of use thereof. The composition can further comprise water. The composition also can comprise an aqueous solution. The method for removing petroleum residue from a substrate can further comprise recycling the solvent composition by using a countercurrent separation column charged with compressed ammonia and / or carbon dioxide and a spinning band distillation column to separate the solvent composition from the petroleum residue.
