The invention provides an electromagnetic shielding material, a shell structure, a battery monomer, a battery and an electric device. The electromagnetic shielding material comprises a first coating, the first coating comprises a first oligomer, a first unsaturated monomer, a first photoinitiator and a modified MXene material, and the modified MXene material is an MXene material of which the surface is chemically modified with a hydrophobic group and an unsaturated group. The first photoinitiator generates free radicals under light irradiation, the free radicals can initiate a polymerization reaction between the first oligomer and the first unsaturated monomer to generate resin, and hydrophobic groups on the surface of the modified MXene material serve as functional groups with good compatibility with the oligomer, so that the interface bonding effect between the MXene material and the resin can be enhanced; and the unsaturated group can participate in curing crosslinking as a reactive group and improve the free radical capture efficiency, so that the dispersion effect of the MXene material in the resin can be effectively improved through the dual effects, and the risk of forming a conductive network is reduced, thereby improving the use safety of the electromagnetic shielding layer in the battery.

Method for preparing a microbe resistant styrenic latex

The present invention relates to a method comprising the steps of: a) contacting styrene and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer under emulsion polymerization conditions to form an aqueous dispersion of styrenic copolymer particles and residual monomers; and b) contacting the dispersion of the styrenic copolymer particles with a reductant and a t-C4-C10-alkyl hydroperoxide to reduce the concentration of residual monomers in the aqueous dispersion to less than 1000 ppm of residual monomers; wherein the mole-to-mole ratio of the t-C4-C10-alkyl hydroperoxide to reductant is in the range of from 3:1 to 50:1. The method of the present invention provides a way of preserving a styrenic latex even in the absence of a biocide.
