Abstract

The invention relates to an elevator comprising a controlling device for controlling an emergency braking device. The invention also relates to a method for controlling the emergency braking device. The emergency braking component of the emergency braking device provided in the invention is connected with a controlling bar with a flexible connecting bar. With the controlling bar, the horizontal movement between the emergency braking component and the controlling bar is balanced and the pressure between the emergency braking component and the controlling bar is connected stably.
