Abstract

A method of recording data capable of preventing adjacent track erasure (ATE) is provided. The method includes: accumulating and counting the number of times data is recorded in a sector of at least one track, determining whether the accumulated number of times exceeds a predetermined number of times, and if the accumulated number of times exceeds a predetermined number of times, overwriting the number of times recorded in the sector associated with the at least one track data in adjacent tracks.
