Embodiment Construction

[0019] exist figure 1 A basic drag-and-drop operation is illustrated in 10. Simply put, drag and drop, in terms of a graphical user interface (GUI), refers to moving an icon or other image on a display screen. Typically, objects are selected by "clicking" on them with a cursor or pointer controlled by the buttons of the mouse. While keeping the mouse button pressed, move or "drag" the object across the display screen by moving the mouse. The data is "dropped" at that location when the mouse button is released.

[0020] In more technical terms, drag and drop is a data transfer Application Program Interface (API) that allows a user to manipulate the graphical environment 12, and thus, the underlying application associated with the graphical objects. With such a GUI operation, it is very practical to move objects within the environment. For example, in many applications, a block of text is selected by positioning the pointer at an endpoint of the block and then dragging the p...

Abstract

Customizable Drag & Drop enables easy activation of user defined or project specific functions concerning two related objects. A user interface graphically displays objects of a particular module. An extending function extends the drag and drop operation to allow the user to define a new set of semantics that is applied when a drag and drop operation is executed. In this way communication can be established using Customizable Drag & Drop extended by a user defined function. Also definition and modification of the deployment of an industrial automation system and hyperlinking of objects in manufacturing execution systems is achieved by Customizable Drag & Drop.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention involves a drag and drop (DRAG & Drop), which specializes in the function of activation and expansion drag and drop -off process. Its application is particularly suitable for frameworks. Background technique [0002] In commercial software applications, there are often such situations that need to merge functions into new applications. In the past, this was achieved by creating code from scratch and connected to industrial applications. When the system expands, the programming code also needs to be required. In a short period of time, the programming required by the system is obviously too heavy.Programmers often find that they write the same or similar code for different applications, and they are almost redo the reincarnation every time. [0003] It was once considered that the object code programming can solve the problem of rewriting code by providing reusable objects. However, reuse objects still require a certain amount of programming. One is...
