Problems solved by technology

Container theft is not only costly but causes lengthy delays in delivering goods
The loss was so great that many insurance companies refused to cover the theft insurance of the container, so some container companies were forced to raise their own insurance for the theft of the container and the contents of the container

Embodiment Construction

[0023] Throughout the following description, specific details are set forth in order to provide a fuller understanding of the present invention. However, the invention may be practiced without these details. In other instances, well known elements have not been shown or described in detail in order to avoid unnecessarily obscuring the invention. Accordingly, the detailed description and drawings are to be considered in an illustrative rather than a restrictive sense.

[0024] Figure 1 shows a security device 10 according to a particular embodiment of the invention. Device 10 includes a housing 12 having a mounting bracket 14 secured thereto. The mounting bracket is mounted to a locking bar 16 at the rear of the container 18 . Device 10 is configured to communicate by wireless signal 21 with monitoring device 20 so long as they are within a maximum distance of approximately 1.5 miles of each other. The wireless signals 21 exchanged between the device 10 and the monitoring d...

Abstract

A security system includes security equipment and monitoring devices that provide real-time security information. The safety device includes a housing and a mounting bracket configured on the housing for mounting on a protected object and including a switch. The switch is configured to generate a first indication when the mounting bracket is attached to the protected part and a second indication when the mounting bracket is detached from the protected part. The power supply, transceiver and electronic circuit arranged inside the housing are connected to each other and the power supply is connected to the switch in the mounting bracket. The transceiver is configured to communicate with the monitoring device. The electronic circuit is armed when the first indication is generated and enables the transceiver to periodically broadcast an OK signal to the monitoring device if at least one of the plurality of alarm events does not occur.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a novel continuous feedback safety system for containers and the transported goods contained therein. More specifically, the present invention relates to safety equipment that can be installed on containers and provide real-time feedback to monitoring devices. Background technique [0002] For the past three decades or so, it has been traditional to ship goods in containers rather than in discrete units. The cargo containers are of standardized dimensions and are loaded and unloaded on board ships and tractor trailers with cranes and other suitable equipment. [0003] The use of containers in the shipping industry is so widespread that there are more than 20 million unlocked shipping containers worldwide. Since containers are unlocked, there is a strong temptation to steal valuables from unlocked containers throughout the world. An international secret auction group has been formed. They specialize in stealing and b...
