Abstract

The present invention is directed to a device for detecting a transmission mode of a broadcast signal and a method thereof. In order to detect the transmission pattern of the broadcast signal, a correlation value is calculated between the broadcast signal and a delayed signal of the broadcast signal; the correlation values ​​within a specific interval are accumulated. The peak value of the accumulated correlation value is detected by comparing the accumulated correlation value with a threshold value. The transmission pattern of the broadcast signal is detected by comparing the distance between the peak values ​​with a predetermined frame length.
