Benefits of technology

"The invention is a safer removable gate arm for an access gate that can release in case of an abnormal impact. The gate arm is installed with a light-emitting device and when the gate arm is removed from the access gate, the power supply to the light-emitting device is disconnected. The access gate has a holder with a structure that can be electrically connected to the access gate main body and the gate arm can be inserted into the holder for easy installation and disconnection. The holder has a joint hole for connecting the driving shaft and the gate arm, and the holder has terminals that can be connected or disconnected by designated pin springs. The invention provides a safer and more convenient way to control the opening and closing of access gates."

Problems solved by technology

However, few drivers, without noticing the blocking the gate arm, accidentally collide their vehicle with the blocking gate arm that causes the damage to the gate arm and the vehicle.
Nevertheless, a reflecting adhesive tape is not that effective and will not function well under certain environments.
Moreover, although the blinking lamps are easy to be noticed, but they are not aesthetically pleasing and furthermore, upon collision, the electricity from the broken wire and the lamps may cause an electric shock to nearby person or may even cause a fire.

Embodiment Construction

[0024]One embodiment of this invention with referring to the drawings attached herewith is discussed in detail so that a skilled person in this field can appreciate the invention.

[0025]As illustrated in FIG. 1 through FIG. 3, the access gate for parking lots A includes the access gate main body 100, the first holder 200, the gate arm 300 and the second holder 400.

[0026]The access gate main body 100 is an enclosed structure that contains the gate control device having the actuating motor not illustrated with a reducer attached, the driving shaft 111, which transfers the driving power of the actuating motor, and various control devices not illustrated that control the driving power of the actuating motor. This access gate main body 100 can be in different styles or shapes and is not limited to the specific shape illustrated in the attached drawings.

[0027]The first holder 200 transfers the driving power of the actuating device built in the access gate main body 100 to the gate arm 300....

Abstract

An access control gate for parking lots includes an access gate main body with a built-in actuating device and a gate arm that is coupled to the gate control device of the access gate main body where the actuation of the actuating device controls the movements of the gate arm. The gate arm can be mechanically connected to or removed from the access gate main body. The gate arm has a light-emitting device (LED) installed longitudinally on one side. The joint structure connecting the gate arm and the access gate main body will immediately release the gate arm from the access gate main body and disconnects the electricity connecting to the LED upon an abnormal impact, such as a vehicle collides with the gate arm.

Description

BACKGROUND[0001]This invention is an access gate for controlling automobile traffic at an entry to a parking lot, or a particular area. More particularly, a removable access gate for parking lots that the gate arm is easily broken off / removed from the gate control device when the gate arm is struck by an automobile, thereby preventing various accidents.[0002]In general, an access gate is installed at the entrance and the exit of a parking lot or at a certain point in a particular area to control the traffic flow. Usually the access gate uses a up-and down movable gate arm to open or close the access gate. When the gate arm receives the open signals from the control system of the access gate, it raises the gate arm and allows a car to pass through. And the gate arm lays down and blocks the access when receives the close signals sent from the automobile sensor or sent from the loop coil embedded in the road which is triggered by the passing of the vehicle.[0003]However, few drivers, w...
