Benefits of technology

The Elastic Hair, Bracelet, and Anklet Cord has several advantages. Firstly, it can be used for multiple purposes and its length can be adjusted for different uses. Secondly, it has a soft and comfortable feel on the user's hair, reducing any damage during use. Thirdly, it creates a market for separate ornements to be sold. Lastly, it can be easily customized with various charms and bangles before tying in a knot.

Problems solved by technology

The elastic hair ties that can be found on the market today are very generic in their construction and design and do not effectively address the needs of the consumer.
As a result, these products do not address the actual thickness of texture of an individual's hair.
This does not allow the user to have a product that is more suited for their needs.
The products currently on the market are inexpensive and do not perform well or last very long due to basic problems with the quality of the material used in the construction.
In order to keep prices low, the elastic material used is inferior and has a very short life span, both from retention of elasticity and breakage standpoint.
A basic design flaw is a built in weakness in the product where a metalcrimp” is used to attach two ends of the hair tie together that creates a point of failure when used repeatedly.
This patent describes a hair tie only, having an classic member extendable toward opposing ends and complementary fasteners but does not have the capabilities of being cut to different length and used as a bracelet or anklet.
This patent describes a ponytail cover that includes an elastic band but does not deal with the hair tie and does not have the capabilities of being cut to different lengths and used as a bracelet or anklet.
This patent describes a looped fastener having a fabric covered elasticized member having a thin, substantially rectangular cross-sectional configuration but would additionally not function well as a bracelet or anklet.
This patent describes a hair bun kit and process which allows a hair bun to be easily and quickly formed but will not work well as a hair tie, bracelet or anklet.
None of these previous efforts, however, provides the benefits attendant with the Elastic Hair, Bracelet and Anklet Cord.

[0044]Referring now to the drawings, wherein similar parts of the Elastic Hair, Bracelet and Anklet Cord 10 are identified by like reference numerals, there is seen in FIG. 1 a girl 12 wearing the elastic hair tie 14, bracelet 16 with ornaments 18 on it and an anklet 20 with a heart charm 22A.

[0045]FIG. 2 depicts the Elastic Hair, Bracelet and Anklet Cord 10 in the standard thirty four inch uncut length. The Elastic Hair, Bracelet and Anklet Cord 10 elastomer core center 28 comprises 90% rubber compound, 5% color added and 5% solvents and releasing agents used in manufacture. Most typically, the rubber compound is 95% to 100% natural or synthetic rubber. The elastomer core center 28 may also be manufactured in a variety of colors and shapes. The overall finished diameter of the product sold in strands of 34 inch lengths is about 3 millimeters, with the elastomer core center being about 2 millimeters in diameter. The elastomer core center has an elasticity ratio of 1 to 4, that is, a...

Abstract

The present application is directed to an Elastic Hair, Bracelet and Anklet Cord that has been designed to be tied in a loop of varying sizes with a common knot. It will have an elastomer center that will be long lasting and will stretch to four times its original length. The elastomer core center has a covering of a pliable nylon yarn material available in many colors. Ornaments and charms can be threaded on it prior to tying the knot. The holes in the ornaments will be exactly the same size as the diameter of the cord making them a unique specialty item for this product. The ornaments designed for this product with the specific hole diameter may be in a wide variety of decorative shapes.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION[0001]This application is in the field of hair adornment items and fashion accessories. More particularly, a customizable elastic hair, bracelet and anklet is provided that can be cut to differing lengths as required for differing applications, can be customized as to color, and decoration.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002]The elastic hair ties that can be found on the market today are very generic in their construction and design and do not effectively address the needs of the consumer. The majority of the designs on the market are a “one size fits all” product. Other companies have brought to the market elastic hair ties that are sized based on a criteria of age. Generally they are made in adult or child's size. As a result, these products do not address the actual thickness of texture of an individual's hair. This does not allow the user to have a product that is more suited for their needs.[0003]The products currently on the market are inexpensive and do not...
